As a long-time coin collector, I have always been intrigued by the artistic intricacies and historical significance packed into many coins. This curiosity has led me to join my crafting/ design skills with my hobby as a means of making concept coin art that is both creative and artisanal. Each piece I design pays tribute to the history of coins while exploring modern aesthetic methods. By leveraging this unique mix of interests, I aim not only to honor the beauty of coins but also to inspire others to appreciate the art form of coin design.
This coin design pays tribute to Sir Terry Pratchett, the beloved late author of the Discworld series. Showing a miniature portrait of Pratchett in his classic wide-brimmed hat, the Discworld carried by four elephants standing on Great A’Tuin, the cosmic turtle. The fine etchings in the background make out one of the Discworld's iconic characters, "Rincewind's Wizzard Hat"
Inscription around the milled edge of the coin reads - So much universe and so little time
10p Coin designs inspired by the historic folklore from the UK. My hope is to maintain the memory of these folklores by turning them into miniature artworks. Although the Mari Lwyd doesn't fall under the Folklore category I have yet to make an "interesting traditions" section so it will feature in this gallery.
Small collection of Britains favourite biscuits. Designed for 10p coins.
